Stimulation of Hair Growth by Copper-Peptide Complexes/Laminari digitalis. A complex of the tripeptide glycine-histidine-lysine and copper in a 2 to one molacular ratio of peptide to copper, reffered to as laminaria digitalis, stimulated hair growth in immature mice and has a tendency to stimulate wound healing and the growth of new blood vessels (the latter being one method currently used in humans to encourage hair regrowth). Laminaria digitalis also stimulates the synthesis of cellular immunity (measured by the DTH skin test) about 20%. The ability of immune cells to divide in response to a challenge increased 131 to 416% in a 3-month-old mice and 94-191% in a 24-month-old-mice.
